Yokomo 1/10 B-MAX4 III Buggy 4WD Car Kit
Item No: B-MAX43G - 1/10 RC Car Kit (4WD Competition)Watch the Euro champion Lee Martin's B-MAX4 in action
Yokomo has further refined its B-MAX4 buggy with this latest version, the B-MAX4 III. The new buggy is built on a minimalist aluminum chassis with substantial molded side plates. There is no upper deck, which should make the car very easy to work on and lower the car’s CG, and the saddle pack configuration allows the shaft-drive system to run straight down the chassis’ center. A new slipper clutch spins the shafts, and the drive hexes are now “standard size” at 12mm. More details below.
The B-MAX4 III does not have an upper deck. Note the shrouded, center-mounted slipper clutch and saddle pack chassis configuration with thumbscrew hold-downs.
The steering system is a typical dual-bellcrank rig, with an unusual drag link configuration that reaches over the bellcrank-post brace. Note the holes in the tops of the ball cups–this allows the ball studs to be removed for spacer insertion without popping off the ball cups.
The chassis appears roomy by 4WD standards, and the servo brace is an aluminum part.
The bevel pinion is large, promoting greater tooth contact area and maximum efficiency. Note that the camber link studs thread into an aluminum part, not the plastic gearbox case.
This underside view reveals that much of the car’s width comes from its plastic side plates. The plates angle upward to provide cornering clearance.
