Item No: 58004 - 1/12 Electric RC Car Kit
An Oldie but Goodie!
In 1977, the XR311 was released as Tamiya's first suspension equipped buggy. When it first hit the market, it immediately drew huge amounts of attention with its unique off-road capability. The new XR311 is a re-release kit incorporates modern improvements while maintaining the basic layout of the original.
The real car of XR311 was a prototype military vehicle of US origin that was procured in limited numbers during the 1970s. It was originally developed as the High Mobility Combat Vehicle, or HMCV (not to be confused with the JGSDF MCV, which was also called the "HMCV" for a short time).
Modernization to the chassis include: use of the standard 7.2V battery pack and electronic speed controller, as well as a steel torsion bar instead of the original molded plastic bar.
The XR311 plastic body is authentically replicated with precise tooling. Camouflage painting can add more flavor to the military vehicle if you like.
